ABOUT ALLEN BIRNBACH

I'll never know why an uncle, returning from a trip to Japan, gave me a little Canon Dial 35 point-and-shoot camera. But it set me on a course away from forays in pre-law, pre-med, philosophy and communications to one in which I could tell stories through photography. For that, I'm eternally grateful.

Over the years I’ve produced jobs for American Airlines in London, Bristol-Myer Squibb in New Zealand, and Dii in China. I’ve photographed members of the Iceland Dance Company in bubbling mud pots outside Reykjavik and dog teams in the Iditarod race in sub-zero weather in Alaska. Each experience has added to my immense passion for creating images that engage, captivate and celebrate the human experience.
